An End to Drain Blockages and Daily Refilling
Background
Timberley Academy in Birmingham has put a stop to drain blockages and daily refilling with Knighton Janitorial system dispensers.
Challenge
Prior to 2021 Timberley Academy were using washroom dispensers that didn’t provide any control over use and consumption. The students would use an excessive amount of toilet paper which ended up blocking the drains and going all over the floor. They would also take far too many (up to half a packet sometimes) hand towels in one go, meaning the washrooms needed refilling and cleaning several times a day.
Solution
After a trial of Knighton system dispensers, Timberley agreed to a full washroom upgrade site wide and the following was installed:
- 76 x k-One Centrepull Toilet Tissue Dispensers
- 40 x Mechanical Hands-Free Towel Dispensers
- 6 x k-One Foam Soap Dispensers
Since the upgrade drain blockages have stopped and there has been a huge reduction in paper consumption.
“Before the Knighton dispensers were fitted the drains would block every 6 months or so and I would end up removing huge amounts of toilet roll to clear them. We were also spending a fortune on paper towels and constantly refilling.
Drain blockages have now stopped, I only need to refill the paper towel dispensers every other day and I’m also spending much less time cleaning paper off washroom floors!
After the success of the washroom upgrades and a recommendation from another local school, we now use Knighton for 99% of all our Janitorial products."
